Creating Voice Presets

Voice presets are your character voices. Each preset stores a voice, settings, and optional description.

Voice Designer Interface

  1. Click the Create Voice button
  2. Browse Available Voices - Use the dropdown menu
  3. Preview Voices - Select and test with sample text
  4. Adjust Settings:
    • Stability (0.0-1.0): Controls variation
    • Similarity Boost (0.0-1.0): Accuracy to original
    • Style (0.0-1.0): Expressiveness
    • Speaker Boost: Enhances similarity

Recommended Settings

For most characters:

  • Stability: 0.5
  • Similarity: 0.8
  • Style: 0.0 (narrative) or 0.5 (dialogue)
  • Speaker Boost: Enabled

Using Voice Transformation

Push-to-Talk Mode

The primary way to use Vox Mimica:

  1. Find your character card
  2. Click and hold the microphone button
  3. Speak your lines
  4. Release when done

Your transformed voice plays in Discord!

Tips for Best Results

  • Speak clearly
  • Keep phrases under 10 seconds
  • Use different characters for different NPCs
  • Practice timing before your session

Managing Characters

Organizing Cards

  • Drag and drop to reorder
  • Click pencil icon to edit
  • Click trash icon to delete

Each card shows:

  • Character name
  • Voice preview button
  • Push-to-talk button

Advanced Features

Voice Channel Management

Control who you hear:

  1. Open Connection Settings
  2. View Channel Members
  3. Mute/Unmute individual users

Prompt Bank Mode

Pre-written phrases for quick generation:

  1. Switch to Prompt Bank tab
  2. Type your text
  3. Select character
  4. Click Generate

Perfect for:

  • Character introductions
  • Common responses
  • Battle cries

Troubleshooting

Bot Won't Connect

Solutions:

  1. Verify bot is in your Discord server
  2. Check voice channel isn't full
  3. Try manual connection with IDs

No Audio in Discord

Solutions:

  1. Check Discord voice settings
  2. Verify you're unmuted
  3. Check browser microphone permissions
  4. Restart connection

Voice Quality Issues

Solutions:

  1. Adjust Stability settings
  2. Try different model
  3. Improve audio input quality
  4. Check internet connection
